Rajamouli’s Maryada Ramanna is running to packed houses all over. The film’s fortunes are looking bright as there is no serious competition at the box office right now. However, there is a deadly threat round the corner for this film in the form of piracy. The film has already been pirated and the download links are being uploaded at a high speed. Despite Rajamouli’s special care and efforts to fight piracy, the pirates are successful in uploading the movie download links.
“We’ve hired 4 teams2 constantly browse the net and delete the links for MR as soon as they find a link they will send a legal notice to the website. The web sites usually remove the links within 24 hours. If they don’t we book them under cyber crime and site will be closed down. But that 24 hrs gap is proving costly. So far 43 links have been deleted,” Rajamouli informed on Twitter.
There are hundreds of torrent sites and the pirated links are also being circulated though emails that it will be a Herculean task for the crew to evade the threat completely. Audience should themselves realize the harm being done to film industry due to online piracy and should stop visiting those sites. Hope Maryada Ramanna survives the threat with little damage.
