'My Country' - A Film with just One Character

Telugu cinema has achieved another first. It has come out with a film that has only one character. The movie, named My Country, is directed by M. Chandrabhushan Rao, who is debuting as director through this film says, “The story revolves around a girl who strives to safeguard the country. I hope to get nationwide recognition through this film.” And produced by N. Ramesh Kumar with Bhavya playing the lead role.

"Most of the film has been shot in Talakona. There are altogether four songs. The post production work is currently underway and the first copy will be out in a week. This is a first in world cinema. Something like this has never been attempted before. We should be proud of this achievement. We are planning to release the film by September and later English version of the film would release across the country," said Ramesh Kumar.

Music by Kishan Kavadia, lyrics by Ramarao, cinematography by Srinivas, editing by Ram Surada are the other credits.

500 Fans Donate Blood to prove Chiru's Honesty

Allegations on the working and management of the blood bank have been questioned many a times. Producer and trustee of the Chiranjeevi Charitable Trust, that manages the Blood Bank, Allu Arvind, came forward and asked the Government authorities to come and check the operations of the blood bank themselves. He even invited people who are in doubt, to come and check for themselves.

Allu Arvind rubbished the allegations and said that the Blood Bank was running smoothly thanks to constant patronage of fans and others. He went on to add saying that such false allegations were made for personal and political mileage.

To support for the cause, the hundreds of Chiranjeevi fans came forward to prove the allegations were wrong. The Chiranjeevi Blood Bank has been active since 1998. It was awarded the ‘Best Voluntary Blood Bank’ by Andhra Pradesh Government for 2002 and 2003.

Horror flick 'Arundhati Bungalow' in Aug 3rd week

Hollywood’s horror flick ‘1408’ based on Stephen King short story of the same title was jointly made by Dimension Films & Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. The film’s budget was about Rs 120 crores and its net profit was Rs 520 crores.

Now being dubbed into Telugu with the title ‘Arundhati Bungalow’ by Muthyala Ramdas under Lakshmi Venkatasai Films banner, the film is directed by the Swedish director Mikael Hafstrom, who earlier directed the horror film ‘Drowning Ghost’. The cast includes ‘2012 Yugaantham’ fame John Cusack, Samuel L Jackson and Mary McCormack.

Mike Enslin (John Cusack), an author who specializes in the horror genre and investigates haunted houses, eventually learns of ‘Room No. 1048’ inthe Dolphin Hotel in New York City. Hence he decides to spend a night in the hotel even after receiving a strong warning by the Hotel manager Olin (Samuel L Jackson). How Enslin encounters a series of bizarre experiences in the room is the film all about.

According to Muthyala Ramdas, the movie will keep the audience glued to their seats right from start to end. ‘Arundhati Bangalow’ will be released in theaters in 3rd week of August. The film will be presented by AP Media.

Speaking on the ‘Shakti’ movie developments, the makers said that ‘Shakti’ unit has just concluded a hectic North India shooting schedule, where the ‘Shakti’ was shot in locations like Ladak, Kulu Manali, Haridwar, etc. Scenes ad songs were shot between NTR and Ileana during this North India schedule. The film even left to Egypt for aboard schedule.

‘Shakti’ movie producer Ashwini Dutt said that his Vyjayanthi Movies banner has not produced any Telugu movie in their past 35 years as costly as NTR ‘Shakti’.
